I had a skinny friend look at me out of nowhere and say, "Ya know, there are a lot of nice vegetables out there!"

Maybe she should have been a little more coy and said, "Your butt is huge." Maybe I wouldn't have been so surprised :grumble:

I wanted to look at her and tell her to get her hand out of the potato chip bag! Someday!!! SOME DAY!!! All her pigging out like that is going to get her in the buns!

    Don't get me started!

Ahh, my favorite was: Cut out all carbs. WHAT????!!!!!

I have about 50 that random people have given me, but I'd like to see what others say so I'll (now nobody keel over and die from hearing this)cut it short. :noway:

Um, were they being facetious? Cuz if they were being serious that's pretty good advice IMHO?

course if they were being a smart *kitten*, well then I know a guy in the wrong side of town that will do bad things to people for a few bucks (I can get you his number).

A friend once asked me, If a friend was wearing a swimsuit that looked bad on her, should she say anything? I told her NO! Why bother hurting some one's feelings. At least they aren't sitting inside the house complaining about their size! They are out and moving!

I had gone to the beach with her two days prior! :grumble:

Needless to say, I ditched the suit...But I was happy I stood up for myself.

they were being misguided - they equated tracking calories to anorexia for some reason.

Worst part about it??? I'm more of a cook than this friend and about 500% less picky about what foods I eat! I am always the one showing friends new ways to cook veggies and things!!! SHEESH!

Is this the same friend who asked you about vegetables if so I am seeing a pattern and maybe you should ditch her....or maybe she is just being helpful again...yeah right:explode:

When I was pregnant and had quickly gained weight (I did 60 lbs total) :noway: my OB/GYN told me that I could eat things like fruit and vegetables, and try and get calcium from skin milk instead of ice cream. She was a huge B. So condescending, patronizing, and assuming! I wasn't throwing back a tub of Haagen Daas every night or anything!!!

BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES IT IS!!!! LOL I have learned to alter my words when "food for thought" is thrown my way. I am so darn happy with the changes I am making. I love my new life, my healthy, and well...if someone is doing that much external "helping"...There is probably some issues in there, ya know? :flowerforyou: How funny though!

I would of said, "So no more gallon buckets each night and super size bags of chips? Dang! I have a LOT of changes to make." BAHHHHH!!! Why do people automatically think we are throwing food down if we gain more than 25 pounds? Sheesh!

I had someone just this morning catch me as I was checking the nutrional content on a bag of peanuts. She said, "I can tell you right now without even looking, they're fattening. They're peanuts! Duh"

How rude! They're better than that candy she has on her desk! She's one of those people who have never had a weight problem and think that just because they're thin, they know everything about dieting. :grumble: Please.

I'm eating the #@*^ peanuts for one of my snacks, too!

I recently had someone that I didn't know offer me this advice:

"I recently lost 20 pounds. Want to know how I did"

"As if I have a choice....."

"I cut everything white. No white bread, no white sugar. Nothing. It's amazing how fast the weight comes off. You should try it".

Okay... good advice, yes. White breads are bad. But how about a total stranger NOT just walk up to me and incinuate that she thinks that I am fat and then try to feel all high and mighty.... The advice itself is fine, but could the delivery be any worse??? Really? I hate people....

"Start smoking. . .it REALLY kills your appetite." No, I am not making this up. (this was not a "friend", but overheard at the local Starbucks between two young girls. . .sad, sad, sad!)

My best friend said she really wanted to start working out with me and talking about all the things that I had been doing because she was seeing such a difference in me. What she really should have said was that she was going to tell me to do the opposite of everything I was already doing and then complain about why it's not working for her. Needless to say I follow what I've learnt and she's still searching for what she thinks is going to work?

I've lost 14 lbs. (2 lbs per week avg.) and I feel great!!

I had a phsyical on Monday, and I told my DOCTOR that I have a tablespoon of PB everyday. Then she says to me, "Oh, that's okay as your treat". I had to tell MY DOCTOR about the health benefits of peanuts!!! EFA's, protein, vitamins... YIKES!!!!!

Oh, does anyone get annoyed when someone says, "Wow! You have lost a TONNE of weight!"...

... A TONNE? Was I a tonne? Was I the size of a Mack truck? Pardon me, I didn't realize!!!
