Have an injured foot ~ what other exercises can I do?

So...my foot is officially hurt. I can't put any weight at all on it. I have an appointment to see the orthopedic today at 2 pm. I still want to persevere and not give up going to the gym, but obviously I won't be doing any elliptical or treadmill or Kick class (booooooo...I really LOVE kickboxing!!). I am pretty sure I have another stress fracture (but again, I won't know until I see the ortho today).
What types of exercising can I do? For the record, we don't have one of those hand bikes that I have read about when I googled.
I know I can do upper body strengthening. If I am going to the gym just to do that, how often would I need to go for that? I have really only done cardio at this point and have not really messed with weights at all, so I don't know anything about how often to do them!
Advice and input greatly appreciated!!
