I can still remember the Christmas I got this. Loved playing this game.

My 4th grade crush gave me an origami crane that flap it's wings when you tug on the tail. INSTANT LOVE!

Kinda weird...I got those little Kleenex packets with the Muppets on them in my stocking one Christmas when I was 5. I was way too excited about kleenex and still remember the day perfectly.

And one year my Mom told me we were skipping Easter due to money problems and my best friends family brought me tons of stuff. I still have all the little ornaments. I was around 10 years old.

One of the reasons that football game was so memorable is how I reacted that Christmas morning when I DID NOT get it from Santa. I had it on my list and I watched my brother open up this one. When I finished opening my presents and mine wasn't there, I broke down in tears. Not a bratty tantrum, but sadness. My mother felt so bad for me she let me in on the secret. Santa didn't get it for me because my uncle, who came to dinner every Christmas, had already bought it for me.

You must be pretty old man.
  • This wasn't even THAT long ago, but...

When I was about 12 or 13, all I wanted for Christmas was a guitar. But I was sure that I wasn't going to get one. I always peeked at my presents in my mom's closet leading up to Christmas, and I didn't see any guitar and I just knew that it wasn't going to happen. Christmas morning, my sister and I opened our presents under the tree, no guitar, and that was fine. But then my parents said "Hold on, there's still one more." They went into their room and came back out and you know what they were holding? Yep. A guitar. I screamed and cried and it was just so wonderful.

And I'm not sure if this counts at all, but when I was younger, I wanted an American Girl doll SO BADLY. I would always get the catalogs in the mail and I would spend hours looking at them over and over, marking everything I wanted but of course, never actually getting them. Samantha was my favourite and I wanted a Samantha doll more than anything. But I never got one. They "retired" the Samantha doll and everything. Just this past Christmas, my mom gave me my final gift. An American Girl doll. A Samantha doll. From eBay, since Samantha dolls aren't even being made anymore. So I didn't get the doll during my childhood, but I spent my entire childhood longing for one, and I eventually got her and I definitely cried a lot and it was amazing and I have the best mom in the world, yep.
