Hey everyone, I'm 5'7" and the picture on the left shows me 40lbs ago and pretty unhappy about it. I've always been very embarrassed of the fact that I even had 40lbs to lose so I never mention it to people, but I'm trying to learn to embrace it as a big feat I have accomplished and as something to be proud of. I wasn’t playing sports anymore because I graduated high school and I continued to eat like crap which in turn made me feel like crap, as it usually does. In my hand is a prime example of state fair food and something that the thought of actually grosses me out now: frozen cheesecake on a stick, dipped in chocolate and covered in nuts.
The picture on the right was taken last month, a couple years down the road and much, much happier. I lost about twenty pounds or so not really trying, just got really busy one summer which made me move a bit more and eat a bit less. I also got sick with mono that following fall which made me lose even more weight and took me a long time to recover from however, neither of these things resulted in a lifestyle change and I slowly started putting the weight back on over the course of the next year. After I got back up to 156lbs, two pounds away from being overweight again, I stomped my foot down and decided that it was time for a change.
Last August I actually started using MFP and that was the start of my new life. I eat much healthier, workout 3-6 times a week lifting 3x and doing cardio on the other days and I rarely get sick anymore. I am stronger, healthier, quite a bit thinner and much, much happier. Now that I exercise frequently and eat right 85% of the time, I am currently the lightest I've ever been in my adult life. The photo on the right is from a photoshoot I did last month because I am now trying to start a modeling career. I entered a contest to be printed as a magazine’s featured model with this picture as my submission. If you would “like” my submission on Facebook and vote for me so I could get published I would be so grateful. It only takes a second and it would mean the world to me. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=169944746493143
If anybody has any questions regarding what I did to lose the last twenty pounds, shoot me a PM or post here and I'd be happy to answer them.
