JUST 1 CHEESEBURGER!?

Today I had a homemade cheeseburger, with lettuce and tomatoes, a glass of water, and a mini sweet pepper for lunch. OMG! It was soooooooo good. I ate it and I was full.

I started on MFP on Feb 1st. 2013. 2 months ago, I would have gone to McDonalds, had 2 (that's right, 2!) Big Macs, large fries, and a large Sweet Tea (with 2 refills!). I also would have ate it in my car, because I would have been shame to let even the strangers in the restaurant see how much I was eating!

I'm getting choked up as I write this. I've got a loooooong journey ahead of me, but thank you (all my MFPals) for being there for me with your moral support.

:drinker: :blushing: :flowerforyou:

Good for you! It has gotten to the point in which I can`t eat at any fast food joint. I feel bad about the calories and the lack of nutritional value. The road gets easier, hang in there.
  • Don't think you are the only one..I've gone to a McDonald's & ordered a cheeseburger and then drove directly to a Wendy's and got another one to go! The thing is, I just need to remember the old saying... NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS!! And we will all succeed together. I am going to go do my treadmill now because YOU inspired ME today with your story and thanks for sharing!????

    Awesome :D

On my drive home from work, id grad 2 Double Quarter Pounders with cheese, large vanilla thick shake and large fries, almost daily.

Id then get home and hide the wrappers as my wife would have made me dinner, then eat that.

My life was out of control.

So glad I found MFP. Everyone on here has been a godsend somewhere along the way :)

    Keep up the great work.

P.S. Check this out. My family loves it :) >> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/906635-big-mac-casserole

I started on February 1st also. I quit cold turkey the gallon of regular coke I drank a day. A homemade burger is so much better than McD's. Good Luck on your journey.

That OP speaks volumes - you are breaking habits, learning new habits, making better choices, with type, amount etc - not depriving yourself, and having tasty food that leaves you feeling satisfied. Well done, that is such a great NSV, good luck with the rest of your weight loss :flowerforyou:

What a great story! Portion control is key, and any food tastes better when you slowly savor a moderate quantity of a well-prepared version instead of mindlessly putting away several servings of lesser quality. Learning that is half the battle.

Good job & congrats on changing some "bad" habits ....... keep on truckin' !

I seldom go to fast-food places anymore ...... just to McDonald's each morning for their $1.00 large black coffees :drinker:

Used to eat there a lot ...... nowadays can't stomach the "sodium" taste ...... I swear it makes my tongue burn !

you can do it. Have you ever tried the Boca flame grilled burger. You can cook them just the way you usually cook a burger. season that puppy and enjoy. stay encouraged.

Way to GO! That's what I like about what I've learned so far on MFP, you can eat a cheeseburger, then just adjust the rest of your daily eating so it all fits in. So much better than living on a "Shake" diet or some of those other plans where you can't eat real food. You met your craving and you still have the ball rolling towards your success!

good for you! It amazed me how little it took to fill me up after a few months of eating correctly. I wish you the best of luck on our lifelong journey.
