Something tells me this guy didn't get strong by doing 3 sets of 15 with pink 3lb dumbbells!

    No one just gets fit. It requires a lot of work. 3lb dumb less definitely do not do it haha!

    I'm using lame 2lb soup cans, but that's because I don't have a gym membership (yet)... I'm going to focus on upping my cardio endurance first and doing lots of body-only exercises (such as pushups and planks), and will commit to a lifting regimen once some more weight comes off.

    You can buy cheaper weights than gym memberships haha

    True, but it's nice to get out of the house when I work out. It's also an accountability thing-- if I DON'T go I'm wasting money, but if I do then it's a wise investment. :smile: There's a place by my house that's $20 a month for 2 people-- can't get much cheaper than that!

    You could always try gallon milk jugs filled with something to add more weight.
