 Hello,
My name is Stephannie. I found out about this WONDERFUL site not long ago. I absolutely love the documentation aspect of this site! I have always had a battle with my weight, but I am going to win the war this time. I know that I am approaching a time in my life that will require good health or pose many more challenges. I have always had a problem thinking of myself first, though. There have always been people in my life who have had greater needs than I have. I am finaly at a point in my life, though, when I feel like my needs are as important if not more so than the loved ones around me. After all, how can I care for them if my health goes down. That is what I am working toward, too, weight loss resulting in good health. Granted, I would love to look great and slender, too, but ultimately I just want to be off the numerous medications that I have to take due to ill health. It is a possibility; it will just take a lot of work.

Welcome and good luck. I feel the same way about putting others first and not taking the time for myself. Its hard sometimes to carve out that time but if I don't then I feel cheated and get grumpy. I think my family appreciates the new me that is emerging and my kids now know to stay out of the living room when mom is on the treadmill or is doing the Shred.0

I feel your pain, I too was on lots of meds before I made up my mind to lose weight. Though I haven't made it that far with the weight (due to other medical issues) I have been able to stop taking most of my meds just from getting healthier! I love being able to get up in the morning, workout and start my day on a good note. I'm happier, healthier, and my kids aren't always trying to go somewhere else because mommy is so grumpy! The weight lose is happening it's just going to take a while to get it all off. This is the best place for support if you don't have someone close to you to help you out. I'm extremely lucky to have my husband working out with me, he keeps me going even when I don't want to! Good luck to you on your journey! I wish you the best of luck with your health, I hope your results are as good as mine were!
