FLAVORING FOR OATMEAL?

I just came up with (what I think) is a brilliant idea. This weekend I bought some plain instant oatmeal, the kind that comes in the single serving packs. I take it to work and have breakfast at work. I had some of those individual packets of flavored drink mixes, the kind you put into your water to make flavored water. I decided to try it in my oatmeal and see how that worked. It worked out great! Although I put a whole packet in and I think a half packet would be sufficient. The oatmeal is 100 calories and the mix is 0 calories. I'm going to pick up some other flavors. The kind I currently have is strawberry, orange, banana flavor.

Interesting idea... I have some of those drink flavors too, but I don't think the ones I have will taste good in oatmeal
I'll have to pick up some other flavors and try it out.

I may have to try that! I use the big containers of whole grain oats to make my oatmeal and I have been adding cinnamon or honey. Honey with strawberries in it is really good too!0

Also another good addition is low calorie coffee creamer. I've put my french vanilla creamer into my oatmeal before and it's pretty tasty.0

Really, crystal light is good in oatmeal? Such a strange but yummy idea, thanks! I believe I still have some quick oats from my Apple Oat Smoothie fiend a little while ago (currently doing spinach/mango/blueberry smoothie) so I must try this. I’ll try half a packed as you mentioned.0

I use the 5grain hot cereal as my b-fast cereal.. I add 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 1 tablespoon sugar free jelly (usually seedless blackberry).. It's like a peanutbutter and jelly sammy.. YUM! I have also used a 1/2 banana instead of using the jelly.. It's so delish and healthy! it'll keep you full till lunch or your money back!0

Also, if you microwave any kind of berries they turn mushy so you can smoosh them up and add a little splenda, it is like berry sauce. Very delish!0
