Looking for fellow Hypoglycemics

I was born into a family with blood sugar problems (father hypoglycemic, mother diabetic,) and I have been showing the signs for years now. Well, I've finally realized after all those signs that I'm hypoglycemic, just like Daddy. This is why my food diary is now loaded with snack slots - I need to make sure I eat everything on time and don't fall too low. After living on convenience foods and constantly overeating the past few years, it finally caught up to me and I gained weight. (Cleaning your plate is not something you should teach your kids. >.< Well, unless it's rinsing it and throwing it in the dishwasher.)

Anyways, I was wondering if there are any other Hypoglycemics out there trying to lose weight? Feel free to add me.

My father is also hypoglycemic, to the point he passes out easily. I show many symptoms of having it myself, but have never been officially diagnosed. But I have to eat otherwise I get sick and dizzy :p It makes it very hard to diet. If you want, feel free to add me :)

I wish you luck in your fitness goals! goals!!

I have reactive hypoglycemia which means that if I eat a whole sh$t ton of carbs in one sitting then my sugar is going to go nuts as a result. Really sucks for me because my favorite food is pizza and I can certainly put it away.

I've done well from trying to keep all meals under 500 calories, adding protein all over the place, and eating two protein based snacks during the day. It's a lot of work but my blood sugar literally never drops when I do this, and after dealing with it dropping all the time for about two years I'm really glad to be done with that.

Feel free to add me, but my diary is private.

I've had hypglycemia for almost 40 years. I have to really watch even artificially sweetened things like diet coke because it stimulates my pancreas to produce insulin just like sugar does. I try to be sure I always have protein included with any carbs that I eat. I eat half portions of fruit so that I don't overload. I definitely have to have snacks! When my blood sugar first drops, I feel shakey and weak so I pop a few raw almonds in my mouth. I have them counted out for the day so that I don't go over. It only takes a few for me. Hope this helps!
