Hard liquor vs. beer (not a cals question)

When it comes to drinking, I love both hard liquors and beer. Whiskey and diet, gin and tonic, beers, etc.

I do try to limit cals when drinking, and beers obviously add up quicker than the hard stuff, but at the same time I feel like whiskey and diet coke make my blood levels skyrocket. I think this may cause a trigger to me binging on foods later, but I'm not sure. I could also just have the drunk munchies.

So which do you think is "safer" for my situation? I always tend to do way more damage with the binge eating than the drinks that I have...

Any alcohol in excess will give you the munchies. It dehydrates you and depletes your body of nutrients. How much do you eat? I mean, I'll go through a couple large pizzas, and a large sub when I'm drunk.

Does beer make you full so it prevents you from eating more? I would go with beer if that prevents you from binging on thousands of calories.

  binging is a serious matter xD

I feel like either way, whatever you drink, if you drink enough of it you'll be munching. if you prefer beer, drink beer. if you prefer liquor, drink that. I don't think it would make a huge difference in munching

I personally am all for hard liquor but carbs spike my blood sugars. A single shot of hard liquor doesn't.

I found myself researching this exact question yesterday being that it was Friday night and I wanted to have a drink or 10. Here is some good information I found. While this article is meant for low carb/primal diets, I think the information was beneficial to all trying to eat healthy and answers your question about levels. Best of luck :)
