My staples are always tons of fresh fruits and veggies, potatoes, chicken, fish, beef, and shrimp, tofu and cheese, a whole grain bread, butter, milk and juice, olive oil, and rice and garlic powder. And bulk nuts and dried fruits although I've been trying to cut down on those because I will eat them all in one sitting lol. I also have to add some Fiber One brownies and some Kemps fat free sugar free frozen yogurt to satisfy my sweet tooth lol. I've really been trying to eat cleaner and less fat/sugar so I've totally revamped my grocery list. The processed foods are kept to a bare minimum and I really only buy any at all for my boyfriend. Of course I cheat sometimes lol but overall I've been doing really good with my eating habits.

My list is determined by whether I'm feeling daring or not. Lately I've been trying to cook something new at least twice a week so that determines some of my list.

    I always buy the following:

    eggs
coffee creamer (I work it into my calories otherwise EVERYONE would hate me)
    string cheese
    apples
    bananas
    brussel sprouts
    broccoli
    salad greens
    tomatoes
    onions
    chicken
    turkey kielbasa
    black beans
    yogurt
    peanut butter
    oat meal
    mini chocolate chips

This past week I made a big pot of black bean soup and had that for dinner a couple of nights. It all really depends on what I want at any given point.

    Great post!

This is probably more detail than you want but I typically buy:
    egg whites
    whole eggs
chicken breasts or ground chicken or ground turkey
two or three cans of beans (black, pinto, refried, and/or kidney)
    almond milk
    Uncle Sam's Cereal
cottage cheese or ricotta cheese (light)
random veggies (avocados, celery, asparagus, and broccoli usually)
Fruit (fresh berries when in season, honeycrisp apples, grapefruit, and bananas)
steel cut oats and instant oats
brown rice or sweet potatoes or purple potatoes (because I like purple :D)
    almond butter or peanut butter
    Nuts (usually almonds and walnuts)
    corn tortillas
pickled jalapenos, Chalula, and cornichon pickles (LOVE these)
    and Trader Joe's garlic mustard

I consume a lot of protein powder, but I usually get that on amazon. I buy spices from Penzey's. I have friends who are chefs and I've learned that the spices, especially the quality and freshness, really make the meal. With all of the above plus th random other condiments in the house, I find I can always make sufficient meals during the week.

One last thing: if I'm having a pity party, I buy Kraft mac and cheese (powdered kind) and birthday cake by the slice :) The cheap kind with tons of food coloring!

    YUM!
