What motivates you most?

When I feel like I REALLLLY just want to give up, just stop and never try again, what motivates me is to take a look at myself in the mirror and ask, "Would I feel ashamed at the beach?" "If I met the love of my life and I looked like this on our wedding day/honeymoon, would I feel confident?" "If I woke up tomorrow and looked in the mirror would I be happy?" "Would I be happy with this body tomorrow, the next day, every other day of my life?"

Then I realize I need to keep going!

What motivates you most?

  • I would agree with what you said, I always think ahead and see how I would feel if i just stayed the same and that wouldn't be happy

Looking at myself in the mirror as well. I usually pull up my shirt and look at the progress I have made, and I know this time is different. This time I am doing this for me, not for everyone else or because someone else is unhappy with my weight. I've worked hard and I am proud of myself, there is no greater feeling than knowing i'm doing this the "hard" way, on my own. That being said my hubby and sons keep me motivated as well. I want to be my best for them.

    P.S.
And looking at a pictures of Scarlett Johanson or Tom Hardy lol
  • I just start to day dream about all the stuff I want to do and how much better it will be when I feel healthy and confident. Finally taking a good senior year picture, prom, looking nice on a date, cosplaying, and just feeling good in general. Sometimes when I work out before going to work or school I ride a wave of happiness and endorphins the rest of the morning! I love that feel good feeling I get after a good workout :)

Feeling more fit and not "bloated" all the time. More energy and being able to do everything with greater ease. Being able to buy clothing in a "regular" store and not the "sister store" for bigger gals. And one of the biggest, yet simplest reminders of how far I've come...being able to cross my legs easily. That reminds me of how I've changed every time I do it!

I feel motivated when I finish walking it out on my Nintendo Wii, and waking up in the mornings to feeling skinny. I look in the mirror and see the curves coming back to my waistline.

The fact I used to be really small. All throughout high school and up until my early 20's I was only 95lbs. I'm 5'0 tall, so that is just a tad underweight. Now I am 174. Yesterday my husband and I did spring cleaning and seeing the clothes I used to wear, and no longer can fit into, that is my motivation!!! I am currently a size 12/14 and I used to be 0. I don't want to weigh 95lbs anymore and be a size 0... but 105 and a size 2 is my goal. I used to be that and I liked how I looked then!

Working in a hospital and seeing people suffer and die from things (hypertension, type 2 diabetes, ect) that probably could have been prevented if the person had a different lifestyle.
  • See results in blood work like my total cholesterol going down 50 points. Weight matters.

Knowing that all of us grow old and die. I want to do that with minimal complications. I want to be able to still help others for a long time instead of slowly growing weaker and falling apart. When I look at older people, I see some who look like every step is a struggle and every breath takes effort; then I see some who might move slower, but they still are out there living life. I want to be able to enjoy my children and still be able to have strength to enjoy future generations too.

Looking at myself in the mirror always motivates me. I just point out a few areas that I need work on and as soon I get on the scale and see the loss, then I'm happy!
