To "bump" a thread is to simply reply in order to push the thread to the top of the list. That keeps it on the first page, that way people can easily find it.
See? I've just "bumped" your thread to the top of the page!0 -

Bumping a thread also means it will show up in "My Topics" so lets say if you saw a Chicken Recipe thread and wanted to come back to that thread later, but you don't have anything to add to the thread, you can just write 'bump'.0
