Knee Pain after 30 DS

I've been doing the 30DS for about a week now , but I skipped yesterday. Yesterday when I tried to exercise my knee hurt especially when I tried to do lunges or squats. The pain was when I was coming back up .

How do I prevent knee pain ?

    I gave my knee a day of rest and then started wearing a knee brace I have for sports from when I dislocated my knee cap in high school. It was prescription, though, so I'm not sure if just any knee brace would help.

    ETA: Also, I took it easy on the knee for lunges and squats if that bothered it.

    Stretch a lot, particularly your IT band, maybe foam roll it too, and make sure you don't extend your knee past your foot when doing squats and lunges.
