117 but a size 0 or 00

I am 117 and a medium bone structure. I am thin but I don't think I am unhealthy thin, I'm not a curvey person, I find it odd that I could weight so much and be a size zero? I have hit a plateau on my weight loss and feel like my body doesn't want to loos anymore and I'm okay with maintaining if I continue to eat right and exercise, but I can't figure out why I would be a zero if I thought you had to be 100 or 110 pounds? I'm also 5'3'.

weight and size don't always coincide. If you have built muscle it will weigh more and you will be thinner.

Willing to bet you have more muscle than the average size 0.
  • I'm not overly muscular but I am tone every where except my stomach, it's flat but far from a six pack, I had a baby 5 years ago and it just seems to want me to work harder then I want to work at it :p

It's just how you're built! Even at 190lbs (5'11) I was never bigger than a size 8/10, when other people the same height and weight are 14/16.

Good chance that you just have naturally small hips. Or you shop at pathetically vanity sized stores. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth
  • What hips? ;)

Interesting. I am 5' 4" and way back (way, way, way back) when I weighed 117 pounds, I wore a size 7. But then, I wasn't a compact, muscle gal. I was thin (much too thin for my frame) but I was still soft in places.

    I'm 5'3", 121 lbs. and I wear a 2 (and sometimes 0) in most stores. It's because I'm small framed.

I'm 5'9", 125 lbs, and have some size zero's in my closet. I also have size 2's, 4's and 6's and they all fit.

i have small hips (33"), so a lot of it is the way I'm built.
  • I agree that weight and size do not coincide because I'm 5"3 124 and could never get my *kitten* in a 2 or a 5!

Depending on the manufacturer, you may be a size 2, 4, 6, 8 ? Who gives a flip? Forget about it! If you look good & feel good, then that is what matters. After all, no one is going to come up to you and ask you what size you are. Well, maybe SOME people would, but they are the exception, not the rule. Thank goodness!
