Why do i lose weight on my rest days?

I noticed something kind of weird about myself that maybe someone can shed some light on for me...
Here is my basic routine... I usually exercise everyday after work (4-5 days per week) and i eat healthy those 5 days. By healthy i mean i will cook my own meals, not have take out, have a lot of fruit and veggies incorporated into my meals, loads of water, stay away from candy chips junk etc. and stay around 1500 cals
I take off from the gym on the weekends, because that's my "me" time and to heal and to recover myself.
Usually on the weekend days i also tend to go over my calories (all the way up between 2000-3000s) because usually my boyfriend will insist on takes me out over the weekend or we'll get takeout or something. Or he just will buy me my favorite high cal snacks cuz he is a sweety and loves me lol<3
i try to still incorporated the fruits and veggies and am currently trying to find ways to make my own food over the weekends(aka i will go to supermarket before i go to my bfs house to hang out and i will buy huge Fred Flintstone steaks so that it will trick his Carnivorous man brain into wanting to stay in and grilling them instead of going out to dinner or ordering takeout and ruining my weight loss efforts bahaha) ... but like i said we will always wind up eating a lot of junk some how some way lol.
Any who which brings me to this discovery.
On Friday i weighted myself and weighed 182 and on Monday after my calorically dense weekend jam packed full of tostitoes and spinach cheese dip<3 burgers<3 pizza<3 chocolate<3 etc.... i weighed 2 lbs less... 180.
Not complaining in the least bit... but im wondering if this is a thing? does this happen to you guys also? and why does this happen? whats the science behind it? or am i just lucky? lol i would've thought i would be the same weight... or maybe a lb heavier. its interesting to me.

I find that I do gain weight on the weekends.... I was bad on Friday, very bad on Saturday and was ok on Sunday. But did I ever have a great weekend. I logged several bud lights, several Bloody Mary's (i consider a bloody Mary a vegetable.... LOL), and other foods that don't belong on anyone's diet.....
I weighed Friday morning (my usual weigh in day) and by this morning I was up two pounds. I fully expect those 2 pounds to be gone by Tuesday or Wednesday... I think the extra weight is not fat, but merely food that will be gone shortly... I wasn't sure how to politely phrase that...
I guess you should consider yourself lucky.... I personally think one day off from the diet each week or maybe every other week is a great idea....
Good Luck,

I weigh less after rest days, too - my muscles release any extra water they've been holding onto for repair.0

Hey OP, take a look at this interesting topic: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/595473-why-the-scale-goes-up-with-a-new-workout-program-must-read
It applies to rest days too.0 -
