Is Quinoa a good substitute for rice?

Rice was a staple in our household growing up, being that my mom is Filipino. While I was pregnant last year I discovered that rice made my blood sugar go way up. I started eating brown rice and it's okay but I heard Quinoa is better for you...

I don't know about Quinoa but I eat bulgur in place of brown rice. Some day I need to get brave and try quinoa too! :happy:0

I've heard the same thing! It tastes really good, too! Just make sure you rinse it really well. Try it!!0

I can't eat rice or quinoa so I grate cauliflower, it's much nicer than it sounds as a substitute for rice. :-)0

So I cooked and tried Quinoa today. Not bad....not bad at all.I cooked it in the rice cooker and it came out good. I can hang with this for a while. If i get tired of it, I'll just eat some brown rice again.0
