Looking for ideas for a healthy weight loss plan, was wondering what other people do to lose weight and keep it off. I know healthy eating and excercise promotes weight loss, im just curiouse as to what you do to lose weight. If you can give me any information or help please feel free to do so!

Eat clean and in proper amounts..that's pretty much all there is to it..I don't find cardio to be necessary but to each their own I suppose0

Welcome!! I'm somewhat new as well, but I'll share my plan in hopes that you will find it helpful. I track my calories -- I overestimate rather than underestimate how much I take in. I track my calories burned -- I underestimate how much I burn by going with MFP numbers instead of what my heart rate monitor says. I eat lots of fruit, veggies, and yogurt. I drink a lot of water and try not to drink calories at all. I treat myself about once or twice a week with a hearty meal such as a steak or some pasta. Hope this helps!0

I eat a varied diet with good macros at a calorie deficit to lose weight
I lift heavy weights to get strong

I lift 3 times a week, get some cardio 2-3 times a week, and eat a moderate calorie deficit while making sure I get enough protein and fat.
That's about it.
You might want to take a look at my diary. It's kinda funny.0 -
I think there's a typo in your title.
How YOU doin'?0 -

I was bri curious for a while in college too.
Serious answer, eat a little less, move a little more. Simple as that. Eat way more that 500 calories too.0 -

Either your name is Bri or you're a genius.0

I don't diet. I eat everything in moderation, as much as I can around my whey allergy, anyway lol. I allow a little wiggle room. I eat well about 85% of the time and "bad" about 15% of the time. That's worked for me for over 20 years!0

Eat more. I started out at 1200 and barely lost anything. Upped it to 1300, started losing. To 1400 and started losing much more. Core muscle development - Pilates.
I have only cut out two things - soda and cereal. Those are because moderation is very hard for me for those things. But everything else, I eat. Fast food, pasta, bread, etc etc. Just in moderation.0 -

^^ I was thinking she might be curious about brie? But who is ever curious about cheese?
I'm confused.
Seriously, figure out how many calories you burn a day and eat less than that. Make sure you get a good balance of healthy fats, protein and carbs and otherwise get enough micronutrients. It's pretty straight forward and easy once you get the hang of it. Plenty of us are happy to help.0 -
I thought you were bi-curious about brie cheese at first.0

I thought the same thing! I clicked on the thread because I thought we could discuss cheese together. *kicks rock*0 -
I totally read that wrong. To all the ladies in this thread that clicked it for the same reason.
Sup :bigsmile:0 -
When I'm trying to lose I eat around my BMR, a little higher usually. I try to eat mostly healthy foods with some treats. I lift weights for body composition and I try to get 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass.0

Now I'll be serious about the question at hand. To tell you the truth, I stick to my calories everyday. I don't nibble on ANYTHING, unless I plan on adding it. I also weigh most of my foods with a digital scale. Measuring cups are horribly inaccurate, and you can accidentally consume quite a few more calories than you think. Like a bag of Terra Exotic Vegetable Chips. When I count out 14 chips, it weighs nearly double the 28 grams per serving. Tricky stuff.
I started MFP with 1200 calories. It sucked. I lost a little water weight and then totally stopped losing. I moved up to 1400 calories because of the MFP suggestions I received, and started losing, but very slowly. Then I bumped to 1600, and I'm losing 2-3 lbs. a week. That helped tremendously with not only my weightloss, but also my desire to binge. I feel like I'm eating like I normally would.
Protein is my new best friend. It keeps me fuller, longer and also stops me from wanting all the horrible crap in mass quantities like I used to do.
I try to exercise at LEAST 3 times a week, but it all depends on my state of health that week.0 -
Lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, lean meats, frozen meals (lean cuisine, smart ones, Amys, etc) and watching the calorie count. I put fresh veggies in baggies for an easily grabbed snack. I live a busy life so something quick and healthy is right up my alley0

Two magic words: Exercise (as you enjoy) and Eat (Moderation)0

OH MY sue me, sorry guys I just forgot to but a period after Bri. Im not bi-curious im actually straight and I do love Brie cheese, I love cheese ha. Thank you to everyone who gave me some advice.0

Drink a TON of water, eat everything in moderation, lots of veggies/protein, exercise however you like, but try and switch it up every few weeks to keep your body from getting used to it. Once you find what works for you, you will know0
