30 Days, soreness and showers

Hi, so I recently started 30 Days again for the second time. The first time I didnt complete it, and I used to take a lot of breaks then. But I felt the soreness through and through. This time though, I don't feel very sore, though I'm hardly(almost never) stopping and I sweat a lot, and can feel my heart rate afterward. Is it like I'm not doing enough if I dont feel sore?

Also, how long after exercis do you wait before taking a shower?

Not being sore doesn't really mean anything.. I've done 30 Day Shred atleast four times and I only got sore the first time I did it for a few days. As I try new workouts that workout different muscle groups in a different way, I experience soreness again from time to time. Post workout soreness isn't necessarily an indicator of how much you exerted yourself.

Just keep at it and have a measuring tape handy to keep track of your losses
  • how long has it been since the last time you did this? Somethings the soreness comes on day two or three. Remember to stretch properly and warm up your muscles to help prevent injuries and to lesson soreness. Good job getting back to it!
  • My husband and I have been talking about that as we've been working out everyday with kettle bells. Some days we feel the soreness, and some days we don't. I do think for me it depends on the amount of stretching I do and my water consumption. When I am drinking plenty of water, it really helps with the soreness.
    Good luck!

It's been 7 weeks since I stopped. Back then I got sore for the first few days of each level. But now I don't feel anything! But I do feel totally out of breath and can feel my heart rate heavy.

As soon as you can if you sweat enough...

As for the soreness, I agree with a prior post, it don't necessarily mean anything. In my 20s I did some lifting and was sore nearly every day... I lifted daily and had a large calorie deficit throughout the process. I lost strength despite doing weight training. Now, in my 50s, I have started lifting again.. been back at it about 15 months or so, I have gained strength, lost more weight (albeit not as fast -- first time 90 lbs in about 6 months vs 124 lbs in a year or so)... and have not been sore hardly at all.. and have stuck with it. I attribute this to adequate protein intake and maintaining a reasonable calorie deficit rather than the extreme level I did earlier. Also, I only lift the same muscles every 2-3 days vs daily which incorporates the necessary rest. In short, if you do it right, you probably won't be as sore... That being said, if you do suffer from soreness, an ibuprofen prior to your workout may help alleviate muscle pain .. Just make sure you are not hurting yourself. Pain is there for a reason -- it warns us that we are doing something that may cause us damage (if overdone)....best wishes on your best success.

I like to rest a little bit before I take a shower after a workout. Give or take at least 30 minutes.

Im sore now. Its my 2nd day of Jillian Michael 30 day. My legs are sore & I think its from muscles being asleep too long. It will get better in time.
