Help - what kind of bean is this?

So I usually buy tinned chickpeas but the place where I buy them didn't have any and haven't done for a while (I live in a small town in Korea and it is the only shop I have seen them in). So I found what I thought were dried chickpeas and have soaked them over night, however I'm pretty sure they aren't chickpeas. Does anyone know what these are? Thanks for any help.

They look extremely similar to some soybeans I grew last year. Think you have to cook them a certain way for safety, be careful.0

They look like navy beans to me.0

I can't help, so I'm going to share a story. My friend took her dog to the vet and asked if he knew what kind of dog it was.
The vet looked at the dog for a moment, and then he said, "Well, it's a brown dog."
(Hope someone else can help-- I just want to say, "Well, it's a yellow bean.")0 -
Can you describe the consistency of the bean and if you crush it what does it smell like? Those clues might help also.0

I vote Cannellini (sp?)-0

After further research I think I might have to change my vote to a soybean.0

Could be white kidney beans aka Cannellini. Google Korean beans white and see the pictures to verify.0

My vote is canellini beans. I use them to make hummus instead of chickpeas.0

Thanks guys. I looked up the types you said and found this http://www.cookthink.com/reference/988/Cannellini_beans_vs_Great_Northern_beans_vs_Navy_beans
I think they may be navy beans. Note to self - don't buy a bag of beans which don't have a label again!!0 -
Waaaah on seconds thought I just google imaged searched the types of beans when they are dry and they looked more like soybeans...0

Maybe great northern bean? :{0

Are they fairly flat? If so I think they are baby lima beans, which are great in soups and salads.. They could also be great northern beans, which are great for making baked beans.

Soybeans are rounder
Kidney beans are more kidney shaped0 -
Being in Korea as well, my vote will have to be for soybeans. It's so hard to buy beans here, as most of the time there is no label on them! Good luck!0

My vote is soybeans. Especially if they were round-ish when dry.0
