Help! Exercise for torn meniscus and pcl

I was on MFP for a year and made all my goals. Then I left the site due to some stuff. Well I'm back now because I was training for mud runs and getting ready for my bikini body then blew my knee out 10 days ago. Just got the results of the MRI and have 2 tears. I go to the ortho this thursday, but I need help! What exercise could i do that won't put stress on my injury. And I'm thinking about going low carb since I'm not going to be very active. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

I'm not a dr or expert but I just had a MRI to check for a torn meniscus also. I asked my ortho about working out and he said I could still run if I could handle the pain because it was already torn. I've been walking on a treadmill with an incline, swimming and occasionally running. Whether or not he is correct, I have no idea! I did cut down on the carbs since I can't work out that hard. I seem to be maintaining my weight but not really losing right now. Good luck!

Thanks, I would love to run but my knee is buckling backwards, it doesn't seem to have support. HOpefully the ortho can give me some more direction Thursday. Good Luck to you!

My advice would be to take time off and rest. I suffered a knee injury last July from running and still have the occassional pain. I never took time off to rest and let it heal. I learned the hard way.
