Hey PPLZ -

I'm 21, 5'3 and weight 165lbs - the thing is I live with my sister and we are almost identical and her weight is around 130 - I don't look bigger than she does and I don't think I look very big -- How do I weight so much more!! Any Ideas? I've been wondering this for awhile .. I havent been measuring my progress in weight, just monitoring it on how I look. I did figure skate for 10 years so I was blamming it all on having muscular legs or something like that!

Thanks! :smooched:

A lot of people carry their weight differently. For example, I find that pear shaped women or women with larger legs somehow end up looking smaller than women who carry their excess weight around their middle. Some of it could also be muscle.

Hey there! Check your muscel tone to hers. That will make you "heavier" without being bigger. Also, take measurements! I went to school with a gal that was a tiny size 2, about 5'6 and weighed 150 because the chick was solid muscel.

Don't forget that genetics also plays a part in all of this. Is there someone else in your family that you know of with a similar predicament?
  • I also have the reverse problem that most do. I think I look ok most the time and then I see myself in a photo and think..."I can't be THAT big". My sister is tiny but most the timeI don't feel that fat around her and then I see a picture of us together and am SHOCKED. (Sorry so pessimitic today...having a really "fat" day and want to hide in my closet until I reach my goal weight! )

O darlin'!! You are gorgeous and that child!! What a beautiful baby.

Chin up! You're doing great and it'll only get easier, or so I've been told.

Best thing to do on those days? Look at all the blessings in your life. It makes those silly demons go back to h*ll where they belong!
