Breakfast Coffee Protein Shake

Ingredients:
♠ 2 handfuls of ice
♠ 1 scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder. I use a vanilla flavored vegan brand, that has 22 grams of protein per scoop. That’s half of the protein I need for the day!
♠ 1/2 frozen banana
♠ 1 cup of brewed coffee-choose whatever flavor you like
♠ 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk- I like unsweetened almond milk because it’s dairy free, provides extra protein, is creamy, and only 35 calories. However, you can totally use whatever type of milk you want.
♠ Truvia to taste- You can also use Stevia liquid, or whatever other type of sweetener you like, but I highly suggest trying to faze actual refined sugar from your diet .
Directions:
♠ Place all ingredients in blender.
♠ Blend it.
♠ Pour in a drinking container, and enjoy!

That sounds so good! I bet it would be even better to freeze coffee in an ice tray and use that for the ice...0

Can you use instant coffee or instant espresso?0
-
great idea!0
-
i put it in the recipe calculator with the ingredients i would use
1 cup caribou coffee (2 cals)
1 scoop nature's bounty chocolate protein powder (60 cals)
1/2 small banana (45 cals)
1 cup coconut milk (80 cals)
stevia packet
came out to 187 cals, 11 iron, 101 sodium, 346 potassium, 4 fiber, 10 protein.
not too shabby0 -
Option for the banana???? I simply do not like banana in my smoothies, they make the texture nice but it overpowers the taste of everything else!!0
-
bump for later0

I like using Blueberries or strawberries in my shake0

i am sure instant coffee or espresso made then poured into the shake would work too0

I'm drinking a chocolate coffee protein shake right now and I used an instant coffee packet and no banana (I would have put some in but my bf ate the last one!!) I just used the instant coffee, one scoop of protein powder, 5 ice cubes, a cup of almond milk, and a little bit of honey. just like a frappuccino!0
