New and looking for a jump start

I've had MFP on my phone for a long time. I used it a couple years ago after I had a baby to lose 60 lbs along with SlimFast. I'm still about 20 or so lbs heavier than I would like to be. I'm taking a trip to London in 11 weeks so I'm looking to lose as much of that as possible.

My trouble is always the beginning of a diet. When I haven't lost very much weight yet, I find it a lot easier to talk myself into cheating. But if I get a jumpstart and lose about 5lbs or more, I do much better at working to keep that off and then keep losing more even at a slow and steady pace. I'm thinking of using the slimfast again to help with my start; I've had success with the shakes in the past.

    HI! I am moving to Hawaii in 12 weeks and need to loose as much asap. And I am the same, for some reason I talk myself into think working out and eating less really isn't going to help, im not sure why I do this, it makes no sense! I too needed a jump start. Have you heard of the Military Diet? You should google it. Its 3 days on, 4 days off, following exactly what they tell you to eat. I am going to do 6 days on Sunday off, want to do it with me? Im 2 days in and have already lost a couple pounds!! Just what i need to get back into the routine i lost this year,,

    I'll google it! I was reading into those fasts and liquid diets and thinking of doing one for a week to jumpstart but I was a little worried about it messing up my metabolism, so I'll look into this one.
