1150.4???

Options
So I was playing around with the TDEE calculator online and it says that my TDEE is 2229 with my height of 5'1" 150lbs and 32 years old with my exercise being moderate 3-5 times a week. It showed my BMR at 1438 to maintain the weight I'm at now? So minus 20% from the 1428 and I'm at 1150 calories a day to lose weight? Does this sound right?

If I were to say I lightly exercised my TDEE is 1977 and my BMR is still 1438 so I would still minus the 20% and still get 1150 daily calories to lose weight.

I just want to see if I'm doing this right or not. I hate numbers lol

I'm just getting the idea of this but I think you do TDEE - 20%. That's the # of calories you need.

    Right? I'm still confused. LOL

It would be 2229 minus 20% not 1428 minus 20%. So 1783 for moderate or 1581 for light exercise.

    no

TDEE -20% to lose weight, so 1977 -20%

    It's TDEE-20%, which would be 2229-446 = 1783

Nope. You take the 20% off the TDEE, not the BMR

    No.

You take the 20% off your TDEE. You try not to eat less than your BMR - it's the base level that you need for survival.

Eat anywhere between your BMR and your TDEE and you should lose weight.

You subtract from your TDEE not your BMR.

You subtract from your TDEE, not your BMR. Your BMR will stay the same no matter your activity. It is essentially a calculation of what you would burn at rest.

BMR is your minimum intake - don't eat below that. Take 20% from TDEE, as the others have said.

Just like what was already said ... TDEE - 20%= 1783
