I know there's a bazillion threads on people who are at the end of their rope and ready to quit because they are aren't losing anything. Well, make that bazillion and one. I've been teeter tottering with a five pound range for weeks now and I've been working my *kitten* off! I'm sticking to my 1200 a day calorie goal with good healthy meals, I drink 96 oz of water a day,just started the 30 Day Shred on top of 30 minutes of elliptical a day. I'm lightly active in general. I have lost 20 lb. since February but nothing since May and I have 40 more to go. This isn't working for me!!

YES everyone gets stuck. This week was my first loss in about 2 months... as I wanted it to be more, it felt great to have the scale go lower, even if by 1. I've been at this since March of 09 but didn't really dedicate until Sept of 09.
Have you tried switching up your workouts? Having one day where you eat more than 1200 will keep your body guessing. maybe also introduce some strength training.0 -
Congrats on the weight loss! I think your body has probably gotten used to your workout routine and calorie intake. What usually works for me to shake things up a bit I change my workout about every 4-6 weeks. Also, ONCE in a while I have a cheat day but don't go over board you don't want to undo all your hard work. I hope I'm able to help and good luck!!0

I agree with the above!! Try some more intensity or a different routine see if that helps! Also your body weight does fluctuate throughout the month so it may really just be water or something. Maybe muscle. Keep going! Remember you are doing this for your health, for the long run! You didn't gain 40 pounds in a month you won't lose it either. But in the meantime, you are prolonging your life, having a better quality life - and hopefully more energy.
PS I also agree if you get frustrated a cheat meal every once in a while is good too. Will make you smile and also keep you on track.0 -
I lost my first 30 really quickly and then stalled with 10 pounds left to lose. I started on January 4th and still have not made it to 40 lbs., but within 3 pounds. This does happen to everyone and you will have to start adjusting things to see what works for you. I found that my upping (yes, that is right, upping) my calorie intake to around 1580 helped me get back on the losing wagon. When you are at 1200 and only 1200 every day, your body regulates accordingly it seems. So instead, put in a higher calorie level and fluctuate your intake between 1300 and that level, mixing it up every day. It is so nice to be able to eat more too! Plus, I was only exercising 2x a week, so did try to add another day (That is my weak link), and you need to mix up what you are doing in that category as well. I do elliptical, walking, and yoga. These are just some ideas that worked for me. I am still frustrated that I can't seem to break through my current barrier with 3 pounds to go, but keep telling myself even if I only lose an ounce a week, it too will come off!!! Hang in there! You are not alone and you will achieve your goal, though you may have to adjust your time table. I think all of us need to remember that the pounds did not add on overnight.0

This is my exact story also . . . I exercise about 7 days per week and ALWAYS stick to right around 1200 calories per day. I lost about 7 lbs the first week, then 5lbs the second, 2 lbs the 3rd . . . then stayed there for 2 weeks.
Your body is quite smart and will get "wise" to what you are doing. Now I eat a different amount of calories every day, and different foods every day . . . some days I eat all of my exercise calories, some days I eat only 1/2, and once in a while I don't eat any of them and only get the 1200 per day. This site has already factored in your decrease in calories, so if you exercise you are actually in jeopardy of the dreaded "starvation mode" and will stop losing.
The trick is to always keep your body guessing, don't get into a routine, shake up things all the time and you will see the scale move again . . . I sure did!0 -
