Research help - How we eat now compared to the past

I'm trying to do a little research for a school project on how American's eating habits have changed over the years, but I'm having a hard time finding reliable resources that offer good information on this topic. I watched the documentary Hungry For Change and thought that was a great start, but I was just wondering if any of you fellow MFPs know of some internet, documentary, or book resources that would help me out! Thanks much!

How far back are you wanting to go? Would you be able to interview people as reliable sources? Like someone in their 80's someone in their 40's and someone in their early 20's and compare and contrast?0

Kristen, I could interview people, but I'm mainly just looking for resources online.
Thanks acg67, I'll look into that link.0 -
Old home economics books, especially cookbooks, are a fascinating way to get a look at how our eating habits have changed. They reflect what experts thought were "best practices" for feeding a family and budgeting for food. The earlier ones were often just written by women who were considered very good cooks or homemakers, and reflect what people thought of as "doing it right."
I love this archive of old home ec texts:

Food specific ones are here:

For a bibliography on "instituional Nutrition:"

You can just browse using this link:

Or you can use the "search" on the left to find specific titles from the topic bibliographies.0
