Recent Breast Cancer Survivor Taking Charge Through Diet

Hi!
If you are a fellow Cancer survivor like me then you may feel like you don't have much control over anything but the food you consume and the exercise you do. I have decided to go meat free and dairy free and instead eat mostly fruits, veggies, nuts, legumes, fish and starches. Is anyone else like me and wanting to take back control of their health in this way or am I going overboard? I go the gym 3 times a week and feel the best I've felt in a long time. Looking to hear how you may have taken back control!

Hi Dahlia, good for you for surviving Cancer. I have Celiac Disease and therefore eat a gluten free diet, which means nothing with wheat. I also eliminate red meat and dairy, since I have discovered they also affect me. I have yoghurt but that's about it. It is a complete mind change at first, but eventually it becomes quite natural. Just ensure that the nutrients you are eliminating through meat and dairy, are incorporated through other foods. Good luck
