Scale fluctuating depending where it is in the house?

So I bought a new scale yesterday. It is an ifit digital. It changes in every room in my house. WTH? I have weighted myself on three different scales in the last two days and they all say the same thing but when I tried mine it would vary by about 5 lbs depending on where it is????? UGH. Guess I have to go buy a more expensive one. Anyone have this before?

scales are tricky, pick the room you'll use it and read the instructions as to how to zero or tare the scale and do so. My bathroom scale is different then the scale at my work but I'm not so concerned with the number. Even if your scale is "off" 3-5 lbs it should still reflect loss/gain to let you know you're on the right track. but, in specific response to it reading differently based on what room you're in maybe the floor is uneven different and if you're not re-zeroing or re-calibrating each time it can screw up the measurement.0

You will get a different reading when scales are on different types of floor surfaces, e.g. tiles to carpet.0
