I am new to this site but certainly not new to struggling with my weight. I had always been thin as a little girl and well into my teenage years. The trouble started when I was 19/20, personal and family issues and depression really began to impact me. It was small at first, my jeans felt a little tight, then went up a size, and so on until I am where I am at now. In about 12 years I went from 125 lbs to 263. I more than doubled myself...
I have tried to lose the weight and diet in the past but always found some excuse to sabotage myself. I feel as though if I don't do something now (i'm 32) I will never have children, my marriage will fall apart, and worst of all I may end up with irreversible health issues if I haven't already. My goal is to lose between 130-140 lbs, and unlike my other weight loss journeys I am finding it really hard to start and even know where to start. Although I have so much that should motivate me I just feel stuck. I would love some friends to chat to who are just starting their journey to lose weight and also those who have as much lbs to lose as I do.
What might seem easy or common for those who have been doing this for awhile is stuff i am totally lost on...like do you worry about excess skin once all the weight is off? What is good food to eat..so many things these days claim to be good and healthy but really aren't....i'd love some guidance and advice and hope that I can one day be the one helping others to lose weight...well sorry for rambling, i kind of do that sometimes but I really would love to make some friends here, thanks for reading!

Hello everyone, this is gamerohgamer. I thought I would create a better more motivating username. :laugh:0

I feel the same like you. Felt and looked great, and then things just tumbled. However, after 10 years (and 2 kids later) of carrying ALL this weight, I've never felt more motivated. I was constantly the yo-yo dieter. Then I found my love...running. It's totally weird since my phrase was always that I don't run. I'm just starting out...and hope to lose 70 lbs first, and then hopefully more after that.
I feel that this is the time now that I did find exercise that I love (and by love, I mean REALLY love!). Between that, and this supportive community...it's time! Wishing you nothing but the best!0 -
Welcome to the site!
A friendly group of MFP pals can be found...
There are also groups formed that provide challenges; want to lose a certain amount of weight; over 50 group; People from local area.... etc... so check out the boards, you may also find some help there.
Try to record daily - to give you the reflection you may need on your food choices... and if you can move - a little or a lot - record that also. Seeing little bits of success motivates me.... would it motivate you?
good luck!0 -
