I had a bone tumour removed from my left leg in March 2010 and have to take very strong painkillers on a daily basis.
When I exercise I have to use low impact machines, I also do alot of Swimming.

HI, I have fibromyalgia. I am a chronic pain sufferer. I fight it everyday. I do not know what it is like not to feel pain in some part of my body. I am doing limited exercise, I try to go to the gym every day. I do not make it everyday but I try. Today my jaw is in lots of pain, every time I open my mouth it feels like someone is punching me. This will be good for my diet!!! lol.

I am not on pain meds. I tried this route and it was not for me. Sometime I do give in to taking something so I can sleep pain free. I also have hypothyroidism, Gerd , High cholesterol .....yes I am a mess! But I am trying with the help of my Dr. I was a vegetarian for 7 years and I still had very high Cholesterol. Still working on that! I recently started eating meat , not much red meat at all, mostly chicken.

Today is kinda my cheat day. I have what I want to eat. But I do not over due it. I have lots of weight to lose. I try to think of positive things. I still stay in my Calorie range. Its those little cravings I have to give into.

I been dieting or eating right for 2 weeks now. I have lost 4 pounds and lots of inches. I love this sight because I can see what I need to do! I hope someone is still here who has a chronic illness. Maybe we can help each other!

Crohns disease sufferer here. Kinda sucks, but as long as I eat right and don't get stressed, I can live a "normal" life.

The trick is support. If you are having a rubbish day, there are things you can do still XD

Heart issue (not really "pain", but "a pain" that affects exercise schedules), and knee issues (which I hope to resolve, but it's been spotty improvement).

Every 1 pound you get off your knees in excess weight removes 4 pounds of pressure on your knees, I read yesterday!

RESULTS: Lost 11.5 since Christmas, 9.1% of my body weight, and 9-10 inches. I modify most exercises, and do "something" on exercise day, even if it's 11:00 and I'm squeezing it in. Just has to get done.

DIET: I stay strict with weekly calories. I also have to do a half-day fast on occasion when I get stuck not losing for too long, or an occasional "spike" day to maintenance if I'm very hungry.

    Proud of you girls!

TOS is similar to the CRPS/RSD which I developed after an overstretch to the brachial plexus during a carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel surgery. This caused a nerve condition along with a circulatory condition in my right arm. It appeared immediately after surgery after the arm block wore off.

It is painful and I have burning in various parts of my arm and the electrical type shocks which occur about every three minutes. They occur in clusters. They used to be every 12-15 seconds apart. It also causes redness, extreme sensitivity and swelling in my forearm and hand. I am taking Lyrica and Celebrex both which tend to put on weight. Lyrica makes me so very forgetful also. I have been in physical therapy for 18+ months now. I just told them last week - no more or at least fewer. So I am on my own for a trial of two weeks.

I have refused to take any pain meds, because I hate the side effects and I still need to work and comprehend the mapping analysis I do. So I was supplied a concoction of five compounds - Keta-Beclo-Cyclo-Gaba-Lidocaine as a topical cream. It keeps the shocks from being as painful but they still occur. But the muscle spasms and aching are tough when its cold. And I am tired of wearing short sleeves and compression sleeves. I hope it goes away.

I hope you find relief also. There are some pain related groups here also, but some are not very active. You can add me as a friend if you would like to!

I suffer from fibro, rhuemitoid arthritis, and a new problem with my left arm that causes so much pain i wish i could cut it off. I had to go through the medication options and i refused anything that had a side effect of weight gain. I excercise when daily. Some days it is nothing more than yoga or pilates. I try not to over do it because if i do then i end up in lots of pain. As soon as the weather improves i plan on trying swimming because it is low impact. My diet plays a huge roll in how i feel too. I found that since i started cutting out a lot of the packaged foods and focused more on fresh i feel better.

Hi there! Fibro and Rheumatoid Arthritis here! My RA is currently untreated with anything other than major doses of Naproxen since I haven't made it to the specialist since I moved over to the UK. I've got a referral to one...but as my anxiety makes new situations unbearable...I haven't made an appointment and I know I need to. :ohwell: I'm really hoping that losing some of this weight is going to help, but I know it will only help so much.

I just had botox injections into my anterior scalene muscle as well as trigger points on my scapula. The surgical option for me is removal of my first rib and my scalene muscle, trying to avoid at all cost. The botox seems to be working, I also have the combo pain cream mentioned in previous post, it helps somewhat. I am just now getting back to exercising after a 6 month layoff, I was a very active runner, don't know if that is possible now, but trying to get back to it.

Keep the faith and hope that no surgery is needed. It is awful when you dont feel right!

Mess of osteoarthritis and old surgeries/injuries here. Taking buckets of supplements to help me sleep despite the pain and to manage inflammation, support joints/nerves etc.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like decompression therapy might help? Inversion tables would be a cheap way to try it out (don't stay on too long to start out), and some chiropractors really specialize in spinal decompression. I'm seeing one now for my low back, which was injured 20 years ago in a fall and has old healed compression fractures in multiple verterbrae which nobody found when it happened. It's been making a huge difference.

Good luck with your treatment, however you proceed, and I wish you the most gifted care providers available.
