Slow weight loss help

so ive been tracking what I eat through here for about 2-3 weeks now, im pretty shoddy at eating sensibly but this is helping loads so I will stick at it, according to this site I need to eat 1440 calories a day, im always on that mark or just under it I think once ive been over it and a couple of times ive been over the amount of protein im meant to have but im not stressing that too much

on top of eating the recommended calories im also working out in an average day I ride two horses, muck out three horses, run around 5km-15km on the cross trainer and I had been doing the 30 day shred, except I injured myself the other day being a prat and jumping jacks are out of the question at the moment but im doing crunches and stuff like that because I would most like to loose my tummy, any exercise ive done to earn extra calories I eat some of them back or treat myself to something 'bad' but I rarely tend to eat all of them back

I weighed myself today and ive lost just over 1lb, gonna have to say im disappointed I have lost 2 inches around my waist and ive lost half an inch off my hips but why am I not loosing weight which is what I wanted to do really

You've lost 2 inches from your waist in 2-3 weeks and you're disappointed? :noway: Maybe adjust your expectations. :flowerforyou:

The exercise calories aren't supposed to be an optional extra to treat yourself with - MFP is designed to give you a certain calorie goal on the assumption that you will eat back exercise calories. Otherwise, it would have given you a higher goal to start with, if exercise was factored in. You are doing way too much activity for 1440 calories a day. The MFP exercise calorie database can be inaccurate, so some people don't like to eat them all back in case of error, but I'd try to eat at least 2/3 of them back each day.

Alternatively, if you don't like the concept of eating back exercise calories, you can customise your own calorie goal based on your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) that would include any planned exercise in your goal.

A lot of people found with 30 Day Shred they lost inches way before they lost weight and overall didn't lose a lot of weight, just stoned up a lot more and lost a lot of inches.
So the inches loss you've had so far is great, you should use that to measure your success for the time being and check the scales once every month to track your weight as a secondary way to see your progress.
You are doing fine. Any loss at all 2-3 weeks in is good. I am assuming it's closer to 2 weeks and 1lb and a bit is almost 2 lbs. So you are on almost 2lbs for 2 weeks if you want to average it out.
Also when you hit 4 weeks you could find you've lost 4lbs. It's not as simple as you will drop 1lb every Monday.
  • ive never dieted or anything like that before so im a bit unsure of what to expect how long it will take etc
