What are some effective workouts to tone up my stomach and slim down my legs (mainly thighs) before summer? I already run a few miles everyday, but I need something more.

you really can't spot reduce...fat will come off from where it wants...

Eat in a deficit and keep working out..

I think squats and lunges were already mentioned...you can strengthen your core with planks, crunches, pull ups/chin ups, ...

Really compound lifts (bench press, squats, over head press, deadlifts, etc) and eating in deficit will do the most to reduce body fat.

My thighs are my problem area too. I've started doing some pilates core exercises, v sit ups and general crunches with a medicine ball. Seems to work for me?

Will keep an eye on this for anymore thigh idea though as I need to slim and tone mine and I'm not a big fan of running :( xx

I agree with this. The key to losing the stubborn fat is just to reduce your overall body fat percentage. Do more strength training to build muscle/burn fat and eat clean. The rest will work itself out.

    - agree with all of the above, except I do the bodyweight equivalents because that is what I love to do.

    - just want to throw in an excellent Yoga pose that really helps to work the abdominal and oblique sections - look up the Boat Pose on You Tube and its variations.

If you are going to do do yoga poses, then you have to do them right in front of where I am working out :) LOL

Dad106 pretty much summed it up. Also, try to switch up the intensity in your running.

The old school work out Callanetics is really great with toning and tightening those areas. Here's a link to her 20 minute Quick Callanetics Stomachs video. I do this one and Quick Callanetics Legs back to back. I ordered the DVD that comes with Hips and Behinds on Amazon.
