Sprained Ankle

I sprained my ankle pretty badly on Saturday. I want to get back out and start walking again - tomorrow! - but there's absolutely no way that's happening. Any ideas on exercises that can be done without the ankle/foot?
(It feels like a stupid question, but I'm serious, I can't think of anything I wouldn't need to put pressure on my foot for...)
Thanks for any help. Pretty desperate to not lose exercise days over this ankle malfunction. :grumble:

I'm pretty much in the same boat.
I do upper body 2x a week. Also, do you use crutches? That counts as exercise? I've clocked a lot of time on my crutches this weekend, which I logged the more strenuous time on it in my tracker.
You can do one legged push ups (I've resorted to this)....ab workouts....
Pretty much, if the sprain is as bad as you say, I'd avoid the exercise bike or swimming routes. Just stay off it.0 -
try a stationary bike or eliptical. And swimming is AWESOME0

I broke a bone in my foot in the fall. Pilates (there is a lot of floor work options) is an option. I downloaded a chair boxing workout onto my kindle that gave me some activity as well. There were other chair workouts to choose from as well. It is good that you are looking for options to allow your ankle to heal properly. Wish you a speedy recovery!0

As a sports masseuse, my wife sees this sort of thing a lot. Her advice is always to stop, and ice it regularly - 3-4 times a day, for 15 minutes with the ice pack wrapped in a tea towel . Keep that up for 2 days or so and when you are ready, start with some gentle stretches - and no more! You should be able to reduce the recovery by several days if you do this from the date of injury and don't over do it! Good luck!0

 You are all awesome! I was so upset at the idea of not being able to get a good workout. Now I can take a deep breath and get back to it. Thank you so much for the advice! :flowerforyou:0
