New to FitnessPal and Looking for Buddies for Mutual Support

Hello all,

My name is Annie and I'm a newly minted 28-year old woman living on the central coast of California who is looking to build and cultivate a support network of buddies (real and virtual) who are in the same boat that I am in so that we might support each other on our weight loss journeys.

I am looking to lose about 40-50 pounds through healthy eating (which includes transitioning away from coffee, sugar, dairy, and animal products and certainly tracking my calories everyday) as well as abundant and smart exercise. I would like to go from 210 to 160 by the end of the year and am in need of support to do so.

Specifically, I am looking for buddies to be accountable to/for in terms of tracking my food intake and exercise daily. I would love it if you are statistically in the same boat that I am in -- similar weight loss goals, age, etc -- and sincere and serious and committed to this weight loss journey.

    Welcome, Annie! I'm getting ready to turn 20 and am looking to go from 185 to approximately 140, although I'm not sure of the length of time in which I want to accomplish that. It'll be awhile, anyways.. if you're interested, I'd be willing to be one of your weight loss partners!
  • You can add me as a friend if you would like and I willing to be there for support. I'm 33 and I weigh 170 and want to be 130 by the time I'm 34 in January. We can do this. I REALLY need to this and I need support too. I am hoping that this website really works, I'M SICK OF BEING OVERWEIGHT!!!

    I've got significantly more weight to loose than you but one thing that might be interesting is making suggestions for different foods, drinks, smoothies, or work outs.

    One quick question, can you clear up what you mean by newly minted? I just worked out and my brain is all fuzzy like...

    Well anyway, I'm 23 and I my fitness goal is to lose 75 pounds and be in great fitness. I have already lost 50 pounds. Well on my way there. So you can add me if you like. I'm on everyday. So feel free to chat me up! I'll keep you motivated!

    I am 20 and my weight loss goal is not as much just about 15 pounds. But I would definitely love to be one of your support buddies!
    I lost about 40 pounds last year, but college took its toll on me and i have gained some of it back. Even though i love to excersice and eat healthy those habits were not very rountine during the school year.

    I know about cutting down on sugar and animal products too. I rarely drink soda anymore and i used to be addicted to diet coke and sprite. Once you stop though, you wont go back to it! Oh my gosh and the animal products. I was the only one in my family that would eat any meat my dad would cook. But now i rarely eat chicken, mostly for it nutritional purposes bc its hard to keep on the vitamins and energy with out it.
