Is your cat full of glucose? If not, I fail to see the relevance of this thread.

I think I would slit my own throat.

Sorry... I am in the camp of "It's just another fad that will make a few companies really really rich"
Unless there is some medical reason for going gluten free, I cannot see the sense in it

Do your homework, read, read, read about it before jumping on the bandwagon.

    Here's a starter for you.

You NEED glucose...you can't go glucose free. Low carb maybe, I wouldn't be able to help you out there, I believe in pasta.

Or does she mean GLUTEN free?

It's really like low carb or the Atkins diet.

    http://www.livestrong.com/article/316071-the-glucose-free-diet/

High protein diets tend to lose fat more quickly in the beginning, but most find them unsustainable as a lifestyle.

May I suggest just setting your carbs to 35% and the same with proteins (35%) and the balance healthy fats like nuts, avocados etc.

This way you can have fruit and veggies along with steak, chicken breast, fish low fat dairy, whole grains, nuts beans etc. Just skip the junk like pizza and processed white flour, rice and potatoes. Sure, you can eat all that stuff, but you did want to get fit and stay that way, right?

Just go easy on the fruit and whole grain, and substitute beans, broccoli, spinach and asparagus.

    Glucose or gluten?

Glucose-free is simply impossible. You can't stop the body from manufacturing energy for muscle tissue (which is what glucose is). Perhaps she means to cut out all sugars from your diet? That is possible.
    Gluten free? Sure.
Low carb? Sure that is also possible. I would have her try the paleo diet as this is a low carb and sugar free diet.

"Just break up" is no longer the appropriate blanket answer. Please edit your response to "I am willing to poop in a box." Thank you.

Not so slow. The brain needs glucose. It won't take long.

make sure to inject 50 IU insulin right before going glucose free. Should work wonders.

Since you seem to mean gluten free...

If it's because you have a gluten intolerance you should expect to see a marked improvement in day-to-day life, mood, everything. Food is different and about 200% more expensive (no seriously, that's an actual estimate), and you'll adjust to GF food and it won't be a big deal and it gets way easier as time goes on.

If it's just to lose weight, don't do it. Going GF to lose weight is stupid and ineffective. Also, it puts celiac's like myself at risk when we go out because the GF "dieters" let stuff slide (croutons on salads, seasonings that aren't GF, etc) and then waiters think it stuff is safe when it isn't and they aren't as careful as they should be and I throw up for days.
