My cat is lazy and unmotivated

I got my cat to wear her fitbit but she doesn't want to take 10,000 steps a day. She spends most of the time just sleeping and is very lazy in general. How can I motivate her?

Get a puppy. That will get her moving. it will probably also piss her off but who cares. maybe she will eat less bc she is mad.0

bring in another more dominate active cat preferably one that lived on the streets to show her whats up...0

Put leash on cat.
Put cat on treadmill.
Tie leash to treadmill bars so cat can't get off.
Turn treadmill on.

Yeah, turn her out!
Also, consider some kind of device that suspends a treat in front of her?0 -

When you do that, they'll just jump off the side and take a nap next to the treadmill.
However, after you get everything setup as described above, and *then* put a large plastic container over them...problem solved.0 -

This. Or a small child, one that is old enough to walk/chase the cat. Guarantee the cat will get moving! If that fails, a laser pointer. Cats go mad cardio with that!0 -

Thanks! The vacuum game stopped motivating her.I will try some of these other ideas.
Another problem, her HRM and fitbit don't agree on calorie burns. Which one do you think is more accurate?0 -
Perhaps this will help?

My fat lazy cat has figured out how to work her food ball by laying down and rolling it with one paw and then shimmying the food to her mouth with the same paw.0

Mine too, won't let me get out of bed half the day.0
-
Get a hamster or mouse or other small rodent and one of those hamster balls.0

Bacon. It cures everything!0

Does yours wear a fitbit too? How can I get her to wear the wristband while sleeping? She takes so many naps and I want to make sure her sleep quality is high enough.Mine too, won't let me get out of bed half the day.0 -

This technique is extremely effective, as my kitty found out.0 -

this would not work with my cat, when you try to "lead" him anywhere with a leash he immediately stiffens up and flops onto his side and just gets dragged in the fetal position until I realize it and just pick him up. So I think I would just end up with the same weight cat, possibly less a few ounces because he'd be fur-less on one side... lol0 -

Is there a way to set the step size for the fitbit? Also the stair heights because the stairs on her kitty condo are smaller... they shouldn't count as full stairs like the ones on our stairway. She runs in and out of the condo, up and down the stairs a lot when we play our favorite game of "here comes the dustbuster!"0

I get my cats to exercise by stringing their cat treats along the house just out of their reach... I get exercise too!0

Light her tail on fire. I guarantee she'll start running.0

Children with waterguns. As long as it's a fitbit one. They're water resistant, somewhat. But if the kids have water uzis, might not work out.0

Well you don't sound like a very supportive owner. Ask yourself, is your love for your cat truly unconditional? I don't think so.0 -
I didn't come here to have my ownership questioned. I came here to be told everything I'm doing is perfect. If you can't just nod and agree with everything the OP says you are a bully and should leave, or else I'll make another thread whining about it. That's bound to teach the bullies a lesson!
