The diet wagon is lonely sometimes

I imagine everyone has their little "group" at the office. The ones you always take break or lunch with. My group and I used to order out for lunch ALL THE TIME. WAAAAAY too much, actually.
I have been on and off more diets than I'd care to mention. It's hard to diet when everyone around you has cakes, cookies, pizza, fried foods, cheeseburgers, etc. It's hard to say no when someone is about to make a "food run". I had always known that I was on the fast track to self destruction with my eating habits. It took me entirely too long to make the change that I needed to make to stop my downward spiral.
My day came at the end of February, my heaviest point ever. I decided it was time to take control of my diet and my life.
I went to the doctor and received a nutrition plan... I began the next day.
I am starting my sixth week and have lost 21 pounds. I've been working out and calculating everything that goes into my mouth. I am incredibly proud of my progress, and will not let anything stand in my way. However, I have noticed that I eat lunch alone now. I take breaks for my snack by myself. A couple of my friends sit with me when they have time, but I went from having lunch companions daily to having one or two people a couple times a week. I didn't change my lunch time. I just stopped ordering pizza and cheeseburgers.
Maybe I'm being silly. I do have friends outside of work, of course. My best friend lives an hour and a half away. We are supportive to each other, but I miss her being here... I miss having someone to work out with... having someone that will understand when I get overwhelmed because she has been there too. I love MFP, and am so glad that it's here... but a message box is not always the best replacement.

Why can't you still eat together? If it's because they go to the restaurants, could you go with them, order a coffee and eat your lunch before/after?0

I always eat lunch alone because, well, only one of us can take lunch at a time. So, I browse MFP during my hour, comment on my friends' activities, chat in the forums, etc.0

Keep up the good work. Find ways to eat with your friends. Some people at my job think I eat rabbit food and ask me if I really like what I'm eating. Others are very respectful of my efforts. At least two people I know have started diets in part because of my weight loss results.0
