frustrated and discouraged

I have been doing my diet for about 3 weeks now. The scale said I lost 9 lbs. I weight again this morning and it says I gained 5! How is that possible?? I'm very discouraged about and losing faith. What can I do?

    You didn't gain back 5 lbs of fat. It is water weight.

    Please stop youself now... the body can fluctuate 3-5 pounds daily, and if you had high sodium intake....hello

    It could be water weight. Review your diary for any heavy sodium items and omit them going forward. Have you been eating out? If so, sodium could definitely be the culprit.

    It takes time. Two steps forward - one step back is not unusual. Just keep tally of your diet, get exercise and drink lots of water. Don't just watch the scale, take note of how your clothes feel and inches lost. The scale is a monster, don't become a slave to it. Good luck!

    You are not on your own... looks like I could be up again this week ... We shall keep at this together... it will will not get us down ( well it will in weight if we persevere !!:bigsmile: )

    Try not to weigh yourself often, it will drive you crazy and definitely discourage you. The more you weigh yourself the more consumed you become with it....Focus on being consistent with diet, exercise, etc. Stress only makes things harder...Be positive!
