"Ignoring" a user

I know it's hard to believe, but you can come across some very arrogant, narcissistic and downright RUDE individuals on this site. lol I've gone ahead and "ignored" some of them, but my question is this:
Is it like FB blocking where they can't see anything you post? I noticed in threads it says "you are ignoring this user" but if *I* start the thread, will they be able to see it? Just curious.

As far as forums posts go, yes they can see it.0

I have ignored quite a few myself. Even though they can still see me, I at least can be spared their obnoxious behavior.0

I found the same, but quickly realized that they can also reply and it just says "you are ignoring this user" and I almost ALWAYS give in to temptation ... not once has it been worth it! lol0 -

They can see your posts. You can't see theirs.0

:flowerforyou: I'm sorry that's happening to you. I set MFP to 'friends only'. Anyone getting on my nerves gets deleted as a friend. I don't see their stuff and they don't see mine. I would just hit delete on any pm's they sent. After a while everyone gets the message. Life is hard enough with out all the EXTRAS!

Are you asking whether your act of ignoring a user will also block anything you post from them? If you decided to ignore me, your choice to not see my posts shouldn't prevent me from seeing yours unless I choose to ignore you. I fully support the right of people to elect not to see posts they don't want to see. But the choice should only affect their own account.I know it's hard to believe, but you can come across some very arrogant, narcissistic and downright RUDE individuals on this site. lol I've gone ahead and "ignored" some of them, but my question is this:

Sadly, MFP's new privacy features actually goes against this to some extent. If you set your profile completely private, not only is your profile hidden to anyone not on your friends list, but (unlike any other forum I've ever encountered) your post history is hidden as well. (sorry, that's my own soapbox)0 -

She's talking about the forums and users in general not people on your FL.0 -
