Visalus and ItWorks Wraps

I have been hearing a lot about these two products and know several people who have tried one or the other and had great results. I'm not sure what to think. The wraps seem more of a quick fix than anything, really. And the results apparently only last 3 months. Sure you might loose inches overnight, but is it worth it when you know there's a time limit to keeping that new body unless you keep forking over money every couple of months?
Has anyone on here tried them? What are your thoughts?

Bump.
I would like to know as well.0 -
I've tried visalus, I loved them (They taste AWESOME) but in the end, it was too expensive when you factor in the cost of the shakes, milk and fruit to mix it. It would have cost me about 200 a month. Plus, I have to buy groceries for two toddlers and another adult in the house AND buy food for another meal and snacks for me. It was just too much. If I was childless and living by myself, it would probably be cheaper but it just didn't work for me.
My friend has been on it for about a month now and has lost I think 20 lbs. She is loving it.0 -
scam. waste of money. etc. etc.0

I did Shaklee shakes for a month or so and lost about 10 pounds but when I stopped I gained it all back. It's because it's super low in calories. Also, super expensive! I vote for eating real food...0

I have been the beneficiary of friends who got caught up in the Body by Vi hoopla and wound up with lots of extra product they couldn't sell. (Therefore I got it for free :P)
Nutritionally speaking, it's awesome. Taste-wise, it's awesome. Cost-wise, absolutely foolish to buy/try to sell something so ridiculously overpriced. It's not any more "unique" than the million other cheaper versions out there.0 -
I've got some magic beans I will sell you.....half the price and every bit as effective0

Yea exactly, I didn't realize until after ,I could make my own shake for far less. Just mix milk (9g protein per cup) w/ yogurt, cottage cheese, PB etc. plus fruit, maybe some spinach. Healthy protein shake/smoothie, and probably more protein than this "protein shake" (I believe visalus is about 19-20g protein)0 -
If it seems like a quick fix, it probably is. Don't waste your money.0

I agree about not being able to afford it. When my friend told me how much she's spent just since February on Visalus my jaw hit the floor. Sure she looks amazing, but I have no idea how she can afford it0

I am wearing a wrap right now. I could use some placebo. Sometimes it doesn't matter where the effect comes from :indifferent:0

scam. waste of money. etc. etc.
Totally agree0 -
wraps are scams. Basically, they work to dehydrate you so you lose water. Visalus is also just overpriced.0

I am trying Visalus right now. I hate the taste! I bought it off of Amazon. I bought the vanilla flavor plus some mix ins. Definitely not worth the money. It is way too expensive. I'd rather buy whey isolate protein from Walmart and have a shake for breakfast and lunch. You can't live on shakes alone. I will admit it is a great jump start to losing weight. I have lost six pounds so far. I am sure I could have done the same weight loss with just regular protein shakes.
I also eat alot of veges, I have cut out soda. I have started eating much better...dinner wise and started to exercise more.
I agree Visalus is a fad.0 -
I've been using the visalus shakes everymorning for about 3mths, love them, I always mix with unsweetened almond milk then mix either some instant coffee, cocoa and ice into them or use frozen fruit.
They taste great and are super easy, a bit pricey, but for me to be out the door with a nutritious breakfast everyday by 6:00 am I'm loving them. I also find that I am satisfied and full till my mid morning snack - which was not the case when I had rye toast with peanut butter everyday0 -
I have a Visalus shake every morning. I haven't lost any weight on them because I use them only to replace breakfast. I love my sleep too much to get up early and make a real breakfast. I love them. They keep me full until lunch and I know I am getting all my nutrients. I have the vanilla powder with coconut water and frozen strawberries and sometimes a banana.0

ItWorks must work because it says so on title. It's a crime punishable by death to say it works ON THE PACKAGE if it doesn't.
OP - in reality, they are pyramid schemes where the seller makes the majority of the money recruiting other sellers. The product is a stand in for how they make their cash.
ItWorks is cellophane, which drops an inch of water weight that you will put right back on the next day. You can google cheap and homemade substitutes for this if you really want to.0 -

I got the ItWorks Wrap, but it was too much food for me. Couldn't finish.0

I was using Body by Vi (Visalus) but I had to stop. I was growing hair everywhere! My back, in my ears, even on my feet.
Once I stopped using Body by Vi (Visalus), the hair growing seemed to slow down. It's still with me though...0 -

ViSalus isn't expensive at all. How much on average do you spend on a meal? Most people spend $5! Each shake is $1.87. If you think $1.87 is too expensive, you can also get your product for free and I've been getting my product for FREE for a long time! So I honestly don't understand why people keep on saying that it's expensive. If I go back to my old ways and eat fast food or whatever everyday, I would be BROKE! I've never grew "hair" like the other post said. Instead I've lost 25 pounds and I've helped others lose weight. I love the product and I always feel like I'm cheating throughout the day, I make a pina coloda shake in the morning (without the rum), and I make a snickers shake for lunch or dinner, what ever I'm craving I can make a shake for and I don't ruin my "diet".
Also, just by losing 10 pounds, the company donates 30 meals to a child in need and/or suffering from obesity.0 -
No it's not..0

Vi shakes use Soy which is a cheap protein. If you switched 2 of your daily meals with any protein shake you'd also lose weight. In the end weight loss is calories in vs calories out, and obviously macro's play a part. You have to remember...weight loss is a multi BILLION dollar industry. It is all about marketing and getting someone to buy a product that they do not need. How it works; make the task seem impossible, then show someone how easy it is IF they buy your product.
Put a good protein shake inplace, You can make a nice shake for same calories and half the price and litteraly 30 more grams of protein.
Protein powder + Water + Frozen Fruit = Godly
Eat Chicken Breast, Brown Rice, Veggies, Fruits, stay away from white breads.
There's no miracle to losing weight, it's all about calorie deficit, and you will wanna manage your macro's to maintain muscle mass while you lose the weight, because you won't gain any muscle, you have to have calorie surplus to gain muscle, but if you get enough food in you and do resistance training, you will minimize muscle mass loss.0 -
I had a wrap party and all 4 of us GAINED inches! Farce!0

I've been on ViSalus for a year. I have never had a problem with their shakes. I drink 1 plain for breakfast then I mix it up for lunch. I'll either make strawberries, banana, both, snickerdoodle etc. There are so many recipes there is no reason you can't find a flavor you would like. To add to a comment made about being expensive? Heck no, If you think about how much you pay when you go to fast foods for breakfast or lunch there is no comparison, our shakes cost under $2 depending on what you add in. Plus ViSalus offers a plan to get your kit for free. Just have 3 friends join under you. If you were given a chance to get free gym membership for bringing them in as referrals, you would do it. I have 2 teenage boys in football and track. They like to eat but they also drink ViSalus to gain muscles before or after their workouts. As for the lady who bought it on Amazon, You don't buy any dietary supplements on there. If you go to a promoter(like myself) or through the companies website we offer a 90 day money back guaranty results. You cant get that off Amazon. As for the wraps in it works, my opinion is who in their right mind would want to wrap themselves up so many times in different areas at different times for 45 min at a time to lose water weight. I know some people who did it then gain the weight right back. But like all you have to keep with it and eat right after. You don't do a shake, a pill, detox or wrap and then go eat a cheeseburger. Last but not least, research your thinking on how much nutrition you are getting and remember what you are really looking for. Sugar, Calories, Total Fat, Sodium, Cholesterol, Protein etc. Here is my personal cell for anyone interested in knowing more about ViSalus 717-586-8028 Leave a message. Thank you
