Job, Stress, and losing my way! Help please?

I have been on a great path for about 2 months now and was losing weight steadily.
I have been so proud of myself because I was really motivated too.
My job is not a high stress job at all generally, but i view it as a medical job, but my company views it as a business (which I guess it is) but my duty is to be a medical professional, and those are my personal work ethics.
My performance at work apparently is slipping and im not "selling" or making money for the company enough. I havnt changed my approach since Ive started work here 2 years ago, and the only thing that has changed is that i have a higher workload. Im not meeting my targets and I cant force clients to do something or "buy" something they dont want. Ive maintained this throughout.

My immediate superior is really stressing me out. He is making monthly visits and bi weekly check ins with weekly emails to let me know how im going and that i need to step it up. Yesterday he came in for the monthly visit and his feedback really tore me down. I know its his job, but i went home and cried and just was at a loss to what i can do.

His visit was weighing on me for the whole weekend, and I havnt worked out since Sunday because of the stres... Ive never gone mroe than a day without working out (only my rest day) and i reached out for comfort food today inthe morning and yestrday and Monday. I feel likel im slipping away from the good work ive been doing and I need motivation and a way to stick it.

I should mention, Im only working till September because Im leaving the country, and ive been sticking to this job because i need the money to pay off a loan before i leave. I just want out, but cant afford to.

How do you deal with stress, and get out of this situation without losing my way??

please help??

Sales it tough and there is always pressure to do more and more.

I have had a lot of stress in my job managing projects and what not, and I rarely had time (made time) to workout or eat right. Matter of fact, I started looking around at those colleagues around me and saw they were all getting bigger, working ridiculous hors like me, and heading on the same road to a heart attack or other issues. That is what got me to where I wanted to change.

Anyway, I use my workouts as my stress relief. I make sure I take a couple 15 minute breaks each day to walk a mile. If I can squeeze in a 20 minute HIIT or strength training workout instead of lunch (I eat at my desk most the time anyway) I do that, or just fit it in after work. All the excuses we make are usually just jusitifucation for our choice not to do it. Rarely is there that much we need to do that we can't find some way to squeeze in some healthier choices. It might take being more dynamic in life and losing some sleep or giving up TV time and such. But it can happen...and it makes us better for it.

    Best of luck!

While I may not have the "Boss" putting stress on me I do have a high stress job. One of my outlets IS to use my workouts to get out my stress and frustrations. If I have a difficult day with a client I take a kickboxing class and envision I'm kicking my clients head (:) It really does help!) Or I do a Spinning class and sweat and work as hard as I can! I like you do fall into comfort foods, but i have found that if i keep the healthy foods in plan sight and the "comfort foods" put away I'll gravitate to the good ones. I've even gone as far as taping pictures of me at my before weight onto the packages of food to SHOW me what it will do to me! Don't let a few bad days of snacks ruin what you've done! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!

I don't know if it will help with your Boss or not, but it may help with the stress, but you may reach out and ask him to do a shadow and a coaching session to see what you can do differently! I know changing how you approach a sale can be hard, but maybe just showing that you are doing the change or trying will show you boss that you are working on it and the pressure will lessen (even if just a bit).

Thank you so much for your support!!
Its not so much making time that is an issue, as is me feeling really depressed and looking for comfort. Im working in a medical field, so probably not cut out for the sales side of things... but have to stick it out until I quit in 5 months. but I did go for a walk during my lunch break, and it made me feel better, and on top of that I came home and did my Combat workout and visualized my boss's face for all the kicks and punches! :) It did make me feel a little better. Still stressed out, and could cry at a drop of a hat, but your advice and the workout helped me so much!!

Thank you both so much!! I just have to keep reminding myself not to stop my progress because of someone else...

Go ahead and have a good cry, crying can actually be a really good stress reliever. Also, is there someone you have that you can vent to? A friend, a boy/girlfriend, a parent? Just talking about all your stresses can help too. Don't keep this bottled up or you will end up blubbering all over your bosses desk. I know because I have been there. Like others have mentioned, keep working out and use that as a stress reliever as well. While these next 5 months might suck they will be over sooner rather than later, stay strong. You can do this!

I have a high stress job, and I've realized that it's not going to change. "I" have to change. This morning, I was going to blow, but I decided that I didn't have time to NOT get away from the building and go for a walk. I went out and quickly pounded out a mile, and came back in a better frame of mind.

Good luck, and keep your eyes on your end date. I can't imagine how stressful sales would be. Anyone that would like another MFP friend in a similar position of constant, unrelenting career stress - feel free to add me! We can keep pushing each other forward.
