Zephyr vs. Polar: Battle of the HRM transmitter

I am looking for a new HRM band that transmits to my phone (Galaxy S3) to connect with endomondo/mapmyrun/etc. Has anyone had success with these things?

The Zephyr and Polar bluetooth transmitters seem to come out on top, but getting input from actual users would be good, too.

Did you ever get the Zephyr or find out anything more on it? Was just curious as I was looking at getting one as well.

Sorry you didn't get more responses... I got the Zephyr about a month ago and absolutely love it. I use it with my android phone and in combination with Endomondo. Unfortunately I took it to the gym the other night (coaching volleyball) to do a little experiment and I misplaced it on the way out! I have to get a new one now. BTW, it worked great and was able to connect to my phone while I was coaching.

The only slight complaint; I think it is a little generous on the calories burned. Not sure if that's the HRM itself of Endomondo. I believe there are other apps you can use it with.

Highly recommended if you ask me (even though you didn't). Good luck!

I have had a Zephyr that I use with my Galaxy S2 for several months now. Endomondo and Strava both see it and work great with it. Huge fan, would buy one again in a heartbeat. (pardon the pun).

I got the Zephyr and really like it...question is how do you get it to show calories burned with trackers that utilize gps settings when you are doing something that isn't gps tracked -- ie treadmill, boot camp etc. If you select a treadmill workout or a cardio or strength training workout they aren't gps tracked so it gives you 0 calories burned.

I use the sportstracklive.com app and website to track all of my indoor workouts with my zephyr HRM.

    This.

I also find it weird that the poster also has the same phone as I do...of course, I was told that the S4 will be out when it is time for my upgrade. :drinker:

I have the Zephyr HxM on my Galaxy Note 2. Works perfect with Endmondo Pro.
