Do you count your coffee or lemonade as part of your water?

Hi, I'm new here so this may have already been asked. I been counting the coffee (black no sweetener or cream) and lemonade (crystal light) I drink as part of my water consumption. Just curious if anyone else does the same and if it should be counted?

i count the 2 cups of coffee i have in the morning as my 1st water. doesn't matter how many cups i have i only count it as 1. i would count the lemonade as water and also add the crystal light to my food diary because it does have calories.

No. The only thing I count as water is water.

Quit counting all of it. There is no truth to the 8 cups of water a day myth. If your urine is pale yellow, you're hydrated. The average person gets more than enough fluids in a day from drinks and food. There is no magic weight loss secret to drinking water all day.
  • I count both coffee & crystal light as water :drinker:

The only thing I count as water is water. Coffee is a diuretic, so it wouldn't exactly have the same effects as just plain old water.

I don't track my water at all. I am going to drink the amount I do regardless, so I don't see any point in tracking it myself. But that's just me. ^_^

Coffee has such a mild diuretic effect it isn't worth worrying about.

Coffee actually depleats you of water so you can only count it if you are counting it as a negative value.

^^^ This. I sometimes add a tea bag (decaf herbal) to my water, and count that as "water". I also add a few slices of strawberries, some mint leaves, and a squeeze or two of fresh lime and still call that "water."

I count water and black coffee as water. If I put cream and sugar in it, I do not count the coffee.

I'm glad you mentioned that crystal light has calories. I haven't been counting that part. lol
