A bit f background I'm currently just under 300lbs and completed day 1 of 30 day shred yesterday, tofay my muscles are sore which I've been told is a good thing meaning the workout was good, but should I do 30ds again today or rest and do a different workout like yoga, walking etc and give my body chance to heal, my aim is to lose weight and tone up.

How many days a week are your working out? Is it truly DOMS or is it an injury?
DOMS is generally nothing to worry about, and further exercise will often help relieve it, but you need to make sure it's DOMS before making that decision.0 -
I would say its DOMS its just that achey feeling the day after a good burn, It's been a few weeks since a workout but I'm now aiming to do something everyday, even if thats just a walk on days where the house is full of people.0

Keep moving!
No pain, no gain, unless you seriously tweeked something or pulled a muscle, then keep going. The muscles are hurting because they haven't been used. Push through the pain to see the results.
You CAN do it!0 -
If it's just a soreness/ache I would go ahead with your planned workout. Make sure to give yourself a rest day where you do little more than walk sometime this week, though. Prevents injury, lets your soreness heal.
If it feels like a burning, pinching, or otherwise painful feeling give it a day.0 -
Then ignore it the best you can and do your scheduled workout. Just remember that you do need 1 or 2 rest days every week.
Don't knock walking. Too many people want to instantly do intense workouts and feel that walking isn't enough. Walking burns calories, is easy on the joints, and is a great recovery workout when you want to just get rid of muscle pain.
I've been lifting and running for several years, and I still include walking in my routine.0 -
Keep going. The key is to mix it up-don't work out the same muscles 2 days in a row. One day I'll lift and do interval (HIIT) elliptical, the next day, I'll do an easy elliptical and take a Zumba class.0

Keep going! Resting is how you got where you are now. In almost all training plans they only give you one maybe 2 days of rest for an entire week. Insanity, P90x, they work you out 6 days a week regardless of how sore you are. working out with DOMS is a good thing. It gets the blood flowing into your muscles for repair.

Keep working out! It'll make your muscles feel better
It happened to me, with another video of Jillian.. Until I exercised again, the pain went away0 -
If it is just soreness (which can be crazy, but it's not an injury or really something wrong) then PUSH through it. I am always amazed how once I get going with a workout when I am sore I kind of forget about the soreness. I actually feel much better afterwards too.0
