It's hard to say without seeing your food diary, but maybe you can experiment with some different food choices. Peanut butter, for example, is a good and yummy way to bulk up your calories and protein. Don't be afraid of high calorie choices all the time. Remember, anything in reasonable quantities is okay.0

Hi there!
You obviously have a low appetite If I have some calories left I will probably get a healthy snack like a banana, a handful of mixed natural nuts, a low fat yoghurt etc
Good luck!0 -
Like 'clew' said, it's hard to say much without seeing your food diary, but maybe you should start by eating way more for breakfast, something more calorie dense? Maybe try to get most of your carb intake in the morning, so you have all day to burn it off? Something like a homemade bran muffin, banana and some yogurt?
All I can say for sure is I wish I had this problem... I eat WAY too much

My question is - How on earth do you have a weight problem if you are having difficulty consuming a measly 1200 calories:huh: I could eat that for breakfast if I wasn't careful, lol. If you want to share your food journal, we'd be happy to assist. Chances are you are not eating enough protein. You have to remember that your body will store every last thing you eat as fat if it thinks you are starving it. Therefore, you must eat enough calories and the right kinds of foods in order to lose weight.
What's your exercise regime consist of?0 -
my exercise routine is pretty bad tbh. i have really bad hips but im trying to aim for 2 60 minute walks a week and 2 20 minute goes on the wii fit. believe me when i say that that is probably more exercise than ive done in about 5 years so im starting off slowly. and i think half my poblem about putting on this weight is i dont eat enugh. or if i do eat i eat a lot of bad things. im s bread junkie so ive basically sworn off more than 2 pieces a day simply because im the kind of person would be extremely happy to live on beans on toast for every meal. ive been told before that i dont actually eat enough and my body has decided i must be straving it so its holding on to every bit of fat. this is the reason im desperatley trying to eat at least 1000 calories if not the 1200 the page quotes me. and if i had any idea how to make my food diary public id do it but im pretty new on here so if any1 can tell me that id also appreciate it lol0

First of all, bread is bad for you. With a hip condition, it is likely that you have arthritis too. Try to avoid inflammatory foods. Change your bread to Food for Life, Genesis 1:29 sprouted grain bread. They also make rolls, bagels, etc. It may take a little getting used to but once you do, you'll wonder how you ever enjoyed white breads and even the light wheat. You can Google antiinflammatory foods and find out what you should avoid.
I am not sure why everyone gets the 1,200 calories daily intake on this site but that is not appropriate for everyone. I would Google something like "appropriate calorie intake for weight loss" and find out from another site what your proper weight loss intake should be. You get to add back in all exercise so that is a big motivator.
I have cartilage tears in my hips and have a lot of problems too, but I have found things I can do. Recumbent bike is good for me and so is the elliptical with no height and low resistance. With a hip problem, you can still do tons of upper body work and that will increase your metabolism. Hit the gym or get some free weights. I would see a physical therapist who does craniosacral therapy too if I were you. They can really help you reprogram your deep connective tissue and align and strengthen your body easing your hip pain and resulting problems.
I will go take a look at your diary and see if I can make any suggestions0
