Do you count your veggie burgers as a protein, vegetable, something else, or all of the above? Why or why not?

If the veggie burger is made from veggies and contains protein, it's both a veggie serving and protein. I don't distinguish my food into what they are, I just look at my macros at the end of the day or at each meal and make sure they're not out of whack.

What is in the veggie burger? If it's made from beans, I'd likely consider it a protein. If it's made from a grain, I'd consider it a grain.

What do you mean by what it "counts" as? Veggie burgers will generally have some quantity of carbs, fat and protein. So it "counts" as...food, basically.

I mainly use them as protein, but then have to watch the fat content.

^^ I know, I'm just wondering for those people who count their daily servings of grains, proteins, veg, fruit, etc. My veggie burgers are usually beans and veg (like peppers, carrots, onions) and I didn't know if anyone counted that as a "serving" of vegetable or not.

I would count it as a serving of vegetables.

It depends what's in said veggie burger. Soy? Black beans?
