going over calorie goal?

How many times per week would you say you all go over your daily goal and how much is too much to be going over? I've noticed the past few days i've gone over by 100 or so calories :/ UGH.

    I go over maybe once every week or two... usually I can stay under with exercise... going over 100 calories or so isn;t bad, as long as it isn't "bad" stuff...

    ok I usually have fruit or fiber one bar or cereal (special k).

    Is your calorie goal to maintain or to lose weight? Mine is to lose weight, so as long as I don't go so far over that I'm also going over my maintain calories, I'm usually not too hard on myself. ;) You're still losing some weight even if go over "lose", but stay below "maintain". Just my thoughts. :)

    sorry, but a calorie over is a calorie, regardless of the means it comes from..that being said, it's healthier if you have an apple over a piece of candy, but in the end, a calorie is a calorie..sorry to be a bummer! I wouldn't beat myself up over 100 calories, I worry about my weekly total, not so much my daily total.

    I have been going over by 50 or 100 calories this week and since my goal calories is to lose weight I haven't gained or lost a pound. Last month I was abit under evry day and lost 7 pounds.

    I frequently go over my calorie goal by 100-200. But then i'll have a day where I'm under. It all washes out by the end of the week, like gymrat said. I seriously wouldn't worry about one day, after all - before joining MFP you probably consumed much more than 100 extra calories each day! (at least if you are like me you did )

    oh gosh I know I was probably a few thousand over before joining mfp!

    Seriously! I calculated my average intake at 3000-5000 per day!! So give yourself a pat on the back for ONLY going over by 100! :flowerforyou:
