Food journal started and I'm SO hungry!

Is it normal to be hungry all the time at the start of your MFP journalling? I'm eating 1500 calories a day but I feel really hungry and weak. I've heard that stomachs sometimes need time to shrink when you start eating healthy. Does anyone know if that's the case?

if you open your diary people would be able to give you better tips on what to change
  • Honestly, I have been dieting for some time. If you are hungry in my honest opinion, you are eating too many empty calories. Yeah stomachs really do shrink, when I was in HS and weighed about 200+ I could easily down an entire pizza. Now, like a plate of vegetables will make me feel full.
Everyone has their data and slant on dieting. As someone who has pretty much rode every health wave there is, I can tell you a lot comes down to foods that encourage your metabolism and well, nourishing yourself in plentitude. I recommend the books "The Power of Your Metabolism" by Frank Suarez and "The Anti-Estrogenic Diet" by Ori Hofmekler.
Feeling hungry and weak at the start of dieting flat out sucks, I know. You want to eat as much nourishing foods as you can. Protein and vegetables namely. Fats are good too, your brain is mainly made of fat. Its the sugars and carbs that cause your insulin levels to go up and thus cause foods to store. They are also up there in empty calories.
But that's my opinion. Good for you for starting tho!!! :D

I was hungry when I started. Now, I sometimes have to work to eat all the calories. I keep extra protein portions in the refrigerator and freezer for times that I'm stumped on how to finish off the day.
Keep using the journal. You'll begin to see patterns that will help you to tweak your calories.
