What cocktail to choose?

I'm going on a hen night on sat - meal, cocktail making and partying.
I can control the meal and partying myself, and if it was up to me I wouldn't have a cocktail but alas, in the name of marriage and all that!
What's the best cocktail to have? What should I avoid?

Gin or Vodka & Diet Tonic or Diet Ginger or Diet Soda is my favourite- not quite a traditional cocktail but it works when I'm out and about!0

I think they're gonna be a bit more complex than that though - we're making them ourselves so I'm guessing there's gonna be a bit more involved.0

if you are making them yourselves...cant you just make whatever you want to drink? if what you want is a gin and tonic, whos stopping you?
that said, stay away from things with syrup-y additives and juices. brew some unsweetened iced tea and make long islands, perhaps.0
